The established streets around the Canning River foreshore and Preston Street shopping strip are lined with mature trees, and jacaranda season in particular leaves a sticky residue and fine pollen that's genuinely tough to remove without the right products — it bonds to paint far more stubbornly than plain dust.
Cars parked near the foreshore also cop bird droppings from the river's waterbird population, which is acidic enough to damage clear coat if it sits for more than a few days in Perth's summer sun.
